JOB OVERVIEW:

As a Casual Banquet Server at the Crowne Plaza Saint John Harbour View Hotel, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service during hotel events, meetings, and banquets. You will assist in setting up and breaking down events, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that all guests have a memorable and positive experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a banquet or event setting, is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays, move tables and chairs, and perform other physical tasks as required.
  • Smart Serve or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities
  • Set Up and Breakdown: Assist in setting up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, silverware, and glassware. Help with event breakdown, including cleaning and resetting the room for the next event.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally to guests during events, ensuring all service standards are met.
  • Guest Interaction: Provide attentive and personalized service to guests, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Event Support: Work closely with the banquet team to ensure the smooth execution of events, including following instructions from the Banquet Captain or Event Coordinator.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep banquet areas clean, organized, and stocked throughout the event. Assist in maintaining cleanliness in all service areas.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including health and safety regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team to ensure a successful event, assisting colleagues as needed and maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
