SCOPE:

The Banquet Setup Attendant is responsible for the physical setup, maintenance, and breakdown of banquet and catering function rooms. This role ensures events are executed according to specifications while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment that reflects the highest level of guest service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Experience: Basic reading, writing, and math required. Previous hospitality or event setup experience preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit (as required by local/state regulations). Valid driver’s license required.

SKILLS:

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying throughout shifts.
  • Must be able to lift and move items up to 100 lbs. (e.g., tables, chairs, stages).
  • Basic reading/writing required to follow event orders and safety guidelines.
  • Basic math skills occasionally used.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and/or break down banquet function rooms according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, staging, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Maintain banquet rooms, hallways, storage areas, and service areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Properly clean, store, and secure banquet equipment and supplies after each event.
  • Refresh meeting and event spaces as needed during breaks (e.g., clear trash, clean glassware, replenish water pitchers, replace linens).
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest and team member requests, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance and follow all company policies and procedures.
