Position Summary: The Banquet Setup team services guests and ensures proper set up of all meetings according to the guidelines of the Banquet Event Order and Forbes standards. Places all items (boxes, pencils, pads, etc.) that are needed for each function in its respectful place. Maintains complete knowledge of all meeting rooms, tables, chairs, props and surrounding areas. Maintains complete knowledge of the group name(s), function times and where their meetings are being held. Makes sure that all banquet rooms and function spaces have proper temperature and lighting controls. Ensures all equipment is set to client satisfaction. Ensures all Business Center products and services are to be readily available 24-hours a day. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual base hourly rate for this position starts at $6.00 per hour, with a weighted hourly service charge added based on business levels. Team members are guaranteed a minimum of $18.00 per hour combining hourly wage and service charges. Qualifications: Minimum Education – High School diploma or GED. Some college preferred. Minimum Experience – Any previous banquet set-up experience preferred. Valid Driver's License required. Must work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to provide legible communication. Good to excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be able to retain the knowledge of the group name, function times and where it’s being held. CPR certification preferred. Expectations & Responsibilities: Employees are to always be in correct, full uniform, with their correct nametag at all times. Make sure all areas are in immaculate order and cleaned from floor to ceiling and set to client specifications per B.E.O. All corridors and banquet pre-function areas will have plants and trees. All china, glassware, and silverware should be in polished, immaculate, in good condition, and meet client specifications and needs. Minimum décor standards – Hotel furniture appropriately placed for event. Maintain orderly storage of setup supplies. Upholds the core values and policies & procedures of the resort. All other duties as assigned. Essential Physical Requirements: Capable of working consecutive hours without sitting down. Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements. Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift, while reaching, bending and stooping. Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds / chairs / tables across short-medium distance.
