ABOUT US

Oakridge Golf Club is a well-established private golf club with a thriving membership and a busy calendar of events. We’re proud to offer more than just a golf course - with a popular bar, restaurant, and event spaces, we’re a hub for weddings, celebrations, corporate events, and social gatherings throughout the year.
We’re now seeking a dynamic, experienced Events & Bar Manager to lead our front-of-house operations and deliver unforgettable experiences for our members and guests.
We operate as a close-knit, small team in a friendly, supportive working environment - and maintaining that positive culture is something we truly value.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who’s not only experienced but also passionate about hospitality and events. You’ll need to be proactive, organised, and a strong leader.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As our Events & Bar Manager, you’ll take ownership of all bar and event operations — from leading a high-performing team to ensuring exceptional service and seamless event delivery. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where no two days are the same.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Running the day-to-day bar operations to the highest standards
  • Planning, coordinating, and delivering a range of events — from weddings and golf days to private parties and member socials
  • Leading and training a dedicated FOH team
  • Managing stock, rotas, supplier relationships, and compliance
  • Driving bookings, bar sales, and overall profitability

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage all bar operations, ensuring excellent service and efficiency
  • Plan, organise, and execute events in conjunction with senior management; liaising with clients and internal teams
  • Recruit, train, and supervise bar and event staff
  • Manage stock control, ordering, supplier coordination, and stocktaking
  • Monitor and maintain all licensing, hygiene, and health & safety standards
  • Work with the wider management team to grow revenue through events and bar promotions
  • Ensure the clubhouse is welcoming, well presented, clean, and ready for members and guests at all times
  • Maintain strong relationships with members, clients, and suppliers
