An opportunity has arisen for a service orientated, hospitality specialist to join one of the most established private members’ golf clubs in East Lancashire as their new Head Bar person.
Candidates will ideally have a background or knowledge in a high-quality, private members’ club or similar environment and have high levels of self-motivation and initiative. You will have control of the day-to-day running of the Club House, Bar and Function Room.
You will need to be a smart, energetic team leader, have a lively, out-going personality and excellent people skills. We are seeking someone who is committed to providing a welcoming atmosphere for both members and visitors. You will have previous similar experience, good communication skills and an analytical understanding of business. Most importantly, you need to have a genuine passion for hospitality and customer service with a ‘hands on’ approach.

Responsibilities
  • Provide an efficient and courteous service over the bar to members, their guests and all visitors.
  • Secure all money and assets of the club and pay to the Treasurer, each day/week for banking, the bar cash receipts in excess of the float.
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the Clubhouse premises.
  • Maintain strict security of the clubhouse including:
  • Building security - Activating and deactivating the Burglar Alarm system (including key holder responsibility’s)
  • Opening and locking of all clubhouse doors and windows.
  • Switching off unnecessary lights and electrical equipment.
  • Weekly & monthly fire alarm & emergency light testing/recording.
  • In consultation with the General Manager, maintain adequate bar stocks.
  • Maintain an up-to-date record of supplies received and stock returned to the wholesalers with supporting documents and to keep records of all wastage and stock lost through whatever source.
  • Ensure all stocks are available for inspection during stocktaking periods.
  • Ensure all bars are opened and closed in accordance with the club’s licensing hours.
  • Ensure bar equipment is maintained in good working order and is regularly cleaned, also the bar area.
  • To be responsible under the Health & Safety at Work Act in ensuring that work is performed in a safe manner.
