Veratina is a new restaurant that recently opened close to Forsyth Park. Here, Italy and Savannah intersect. We’re focused on creating unique, handcrafted dishes that awaken the palate while evoking nostalgia and comfort. We also pride ourselves on creating an elevated yet relaxed atmosphere where everyone always feels welcome.
We’re looking to hire team members who are kind, enthusiastic, upbeat, and proactive. Specifically, we’re looking for a team member for our bar curator position.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
create and maintain bar program and perform related duties, which may include, but are not limited to: create and maintain bar menu, create, maintain, and execute recipes for cocktails, cost out cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer, order and track products, communicate with alcohol reps, review and put away orders, ensure bar area is clean, organized, and stocked and products are properly labeled, create educational resources, train and educate staff, be a role model for staff, ensure adherence to health and safety standards and regulations, maintain the utmost professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion with respect to the company, staff, vendors, and guests, effectively communicate with owners, managers, staff, and vendors, and demonstrate a kind, positive, and upbeat demeanor; and,
perform bartending duties, which may include, but are not limited to: maintain strong working knowledge of a wide array of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer (with an emphasis on Italian versions of all of the foregoing), greet guests, take dine-in orders, process payments, make change, answer the phone, take and prepare to go orders, serve drinks and food, prepare and serve standard, craft, and bespoke alcoholic beverages, bus bar area, reset bar area, keep bar area clean, organized, and stocked, polish glasses, dishes, and silverware, use and maintain familiarity with our point of sale system (currently Toast), explain menu items to guests and maintain knowledge of all menu items, effectively communicate with guests and other staff, escalate guest feedback and complaints, provide exceptional service, ensure guests have a positive experience, check restrooms, keep restrooms clean and stocked, keep beverages, silverware, and napkins stocked, make coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and tea, move tables and chairs, check for and communicate guest preferences, requests, special occasions, allergies, and restrictions to managers and other staff, polish dishes and silverware, wipe down tables, chairs, and countertops, stock stations, sweep and mop front of house, clean windows, complete various shift opening and closing duties, and demonstrate a kind, positive, and upbeat demeanor.
Pay consists of hourly wage when performing bar curator responsibilities and hourly wage plus tips and tip outs when performing bartender responsibilities.
