We are currently inviting applications for a Bar Manager to join and lead the front of house Bar team at Sheen Falls Lodge
The role focuses on supporting the day-to-day activities in food beverage outlets. This role is accountable for the service standards and hygiene standards and the total beverages sales budget in the hotel (not including wine). You are responsible for the initial staff induction to the department and the ongoing training and development of all associates within the department. You are responsible for the stock within the department and the stocktaking of all departmental stock, maintenance and purchasing of glassware, cutlery, linen and equipment including maintenance of equipment within the department.
Leadership is key to develop and maintain the team already in place and raise standards in line with the hotel’s culture. This needs to be a prime focus and must be carefully managed to ensure a smooth transition. Setting the foundations for careful improvement in all areas of the offering are vital and should be taken with great care and attention.

Responsible For:

  • All bar and floor staff in Sheen Bar.
  • Beverage Service on daily basis in the Sheen Lounge, Library, Drawing room, patio, etc.
  • In conjunction with the Restaurant Manager, Food and Afternoon Tea service in the Sheen Lounge, Library, Drawing room and study.
  • Beverage service and operations in WPS, outdoor, Villas and cottages and other areas of the hotel where a function may require it.
  • The Beverage Gross profit margin each month
  • The Labour costs of the department.
  • Staff communication and training.
  • Organising the weekly team meeting
  • The stock management and stocktakes of both the Sheen Bar, drinks cellars and store rooms.
  • Purchasing of stock, glasses and utensils for the beverage department using the Procurement tools available ensuring pre-approval of said purchases
  • Customer service of the department and guest satisfaction
  • Monthly promotional drinks and ideas to increase sales in the area.
  • Further development of the department and its team
  • To organise the efficient operation of all beverage outlets in the hotel

The ideal candidate will have the following experience in a similar role:

  • 2+ years experience in a similar role in a luxury environment.
  • Proven Bar managerial experience. (2+ years)
  • Good cocktail knowledge essential and Mixology experience a plus.
  • Proven experience in leading a Bar team.
  • Excellent IT skills including a proficient user of MS Office and excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational, negotiation and communication skills are a must including fluent spoken and written English
