Job Role... The Bar Manager at Soho House is responsible for overseeing the beverage operation within the department, floor or property ensuring its overall success whilst also supporting the management team where needed. Main responsibilities include keeping on top of stock within the bar, providing leadership to the team which includes development and recruitment and ensuring the bar is run in an efficient manner resulting in members and guests having the best possible experience. Main Duties... To manage team members in all aspects including, recruiting, training, schedules, payroll, staff complaints and disciplinary procedures. To assess team members performance, conduct appraisals, and strategize for making improvements where required. To organise team member meeting with set agenda on a monthly basis. To receive deliveries for stock and inventory as needed. To place orders for inventory based on business needs and budgets. To maintain a safe, orderly and sanitized bar. To ensure all menus are up-to-date and correct. To ensure all legal requirements are adhered to (i.e. rest breaks, working hours, pay and Health & Safety) To report bar stock shortage– (variables) glasses & equipment To review and address Mystery Shopper reports with appropriate actions. To actively participates as a member of the management team in decision making processes, attending required meetings, etc. To delegate work and determine beverage methods to team members throughout shift. To oversee daily/shift schedules; make any necessary changes per business need and budget. To ensure maximum revenue is achieved from all sales opportunities. To drive House Tonic program and conduct House Tonic related trainings and support global competitions as advised by Head of Bars UK Europe & Asia. To performs other duties as assigned by Assistant General Manager & General Manager. To ensure cleanliness standards and procedures for the unit & their areas are in accordance with site, company and legal standards. To ensure all new starters are rigorously trained to standards and competencies. Experience Required.. A successful Bar Manager for Soho House will ideally have 3-5 years’ experience in a busy high-profile venue and a natural flair for first class service in a similar role. You’ll be reliable, friendly and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success. Innovator and influencer with previous experience managing F&B operations Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships (internal and external) Strong attention to details Excellent customer service Fluent in Japanese and English Organised and reliable Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team Computer literacy within Opera, Micros and Adaco advantageous Personal license holder
