JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bar. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and restaurant management, with a passion for delivering exceptional service. As a Bar Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the bar, supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably with restaurant or pub experience.
• Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated team management skills.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
• Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on training and developing staff.
• Familiarity with serving techniques and barista skills is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.

ABOUT US

The Bowbridge Arms is a popular pub that has recently reopened under new ownership. We have a simple but good pub menu and a well stocked bar, priding ourselves on local produce. We host regular events including live music, open mics and pub quizzes. A family-friendly pub with children’s play areas and a lovely bunch of regulars that love a good chat. We are seeking someone on a long-term basis who would like to grow with us. Evening and weekend availability is crucial and there will be times where you will be working alone in the pub.

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 27 – 35 per week

Experience:

• Manage all aspects of bar operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
• Supervise and train bar staff, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company policies.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety practices.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and service during busy periods.
• Maintain a clean and organised bar area, adhering to hygiene standards at all times.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring satisfaction.
• Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to foster team development and leadership skills.
• Opening and Closing procedures including cashing up and cellar management.
