JOB OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a confident and experienced Bar / Service Manager to take the lead in running front-of-house service in our small, community-focused pub. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be on the floor and behind the bar, setting the standard for customer service, managing the team during shifts, and ensuring smooth, efficient, and friendly service from open to close.
You will be the person in charge of daily service — making sure our customers are well looked after, our team is working effectively, and everything behind the scenes is running like clockwork.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Service: Act as the manager on duty during all service times — running the floor, managing the bar, and ensuring a great experience for every guest.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support bar staff during shifts, delegate tasks, monitor performance, and maintain a positive working environment.
  • Customer Experience: Be the face of the pub during service — welcoming guests, resolving any issues, and making sure everyone feels at home.
  • Stock & Bar Management: Keep the bar fully stocked and well-presented; monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage deliveries.
  • Cash & Till Management: Handle daily cashing up, float management, and end-of-day reports.
  • Compliance: Ensure all licensing, hygiene, health & safety, and age verification procedures are followed at all times.
  • Community Engagement: Support pub events and community activities, helping to make the pub a true hub for locals.
