We’re looking for an experienced and confident Bar Person to join our team at Bearslake Inn – a beautiful 13th-century thatched pub on the edge of Dartmoor, known for our quality food, carefully curated drinks list, and warm, relaxed atmosphere.
This is a key role for someone who enjoys delivering great service, takes pride in presentation, and has a solid understanding of beverages – from pulling the perfect pint to pouring a glass of wine with confidence and care.

What you’ll be doing:

• Running the bar during service with professionalism and efficiency
• Preparing and serving a range of drinks including ales, wines, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options
• Presenting all drinks to a high standard, with attention to detail and consistency
• Assisting with cellar management – line cleaning, stock rotation, and beer changes
• Recommending drinks, upselling, and helping guests choose from our drinks menu
• Keeping the bar clean, well-stocked, and organised at all times
• Supporting the floor team and jumping in wherever needed during service

What we’re looking for:

• A confident, experienced bar person (ideally 1 year+ in a quality hospitality setting)
• Good knowledge of wine and beer – WSET or similar would be a bonus
• Familiarity with cellar work and maintaining beer quality
• Strong customer service skills with a warm, professional manner
• A calm, organised approach – especially during busy shifts
• Team player, reliable, with a flexible attitude (evenings & weekends included)
