BAR SUPERVISOR

We are seeking to recruit a Bar Supervisor to join our team at The Tower Hotel. You will ensure the smooth and effective running of all aspects of bar service, across multiple bars. You and your team will ensure that the guest experience is of the highest standard of efficiency, professionalism, and friendliness and at all times, whilst anticipating our guests needs. The ideal candidate must be available to work both mid-week and weekend shifts.
The Tower Hotel is Waterford’s premier 4-star city centre hotel and is superbly located overlooking the Marina and Reginald’s Tower. The hotel is just a 3-minute stroll from the city’s shopping and entertainment hot spots, and the premier business district.
We are part of the Neville Hotel group, a family-owned Irish Hotel Group with six iconic hotels. They are the 4* Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, the 5* Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort in Wicklow, the 4* Kilkenny River Court Hotel, the 4* Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre in Waterford City, the 4* Ravenport Resort in Wexford, and 4* Whites of Wexford.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all guests are given a warm and friendly welcome and anticipate any assistance that may be required.
  • To set and maintain the correct service standards.
  • Ensure the Bar Team is knowledgeable of allergen awareness, dietary requirements, and product awareness.
  • To continuously revisit standards and generate new ideas to differentiate Neville Hotels from its competitors.
  • To continually develop and train team members products knowledge and bar skills.
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Balance cash and credit cards reconciliations at the end of shift.
  • Identify and deliver on training needs, ensuring that training is documented accordingly.
  • Be able to recommend and upsell wine and beverages.
  • To assist in the control of all costs throughout the department.
  • To attend hotel and departmental meetings as required, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
  • To maintain all company policies and procedures.
  • To ensure that all hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • To ensure an environment exists which promotes employee morale and encourages the team to have pride and commitment in their area of work.
  • To report and/or take appropriate action on all maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Ensure that employees comply with service, uniform, personal appearance, and health and food safety standards.
