ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Keep the bar stocked with garnishes, straws, and napkins
• Make sure the bartenders have clean towels, glassware, and garnishes
• Keep the bar stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer
• Check beer taps and coolers to confirm they are working correctly
• Assist with keeping the bar clean by wiping counters and surfaces, sweeping and mopping the floors, clearing the counter of used glasses, scrub coolers, and empty the trash when necessary
• Maintain and report levels of usage to make the reordering process simple
• Make sure all delivered items are stored properly
• Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting using the guests’ names when possible
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
• Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• At least one year of related work experience
• Current Smart Serve Certification
• Knowledge of basic sanitation controls and purpose and use of cleaning supplies
• Knowledge of Marriott sanitation standards, food handling safety and sanitation procedures

Reporting to the Food and Beverage leadership team, the bar back will assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities, and taking on other duties to support the bartenders and ensure that the bar operates smoothly.
