As a Barber School Instructor, you will combine technical expertise with mentorship to help students learn industry-standard barbering techniques while supporting their personal and professional growth. What You’ll Do Teach hands-on and classroom instruction in haircutting, shaving, safety, sanitation, and client service. Prepare lesson plans and guide students through both state curriculum and real-world salon practices. Model professionalism, ethics, and accountability every day. Ensure compliance with New Mexico Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists regulations. Foster a trauma-informed, inclusive, and recovery-supportive learning environment. Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and student evaluations. Participate in program meetings, curriculum reviews, and professional development. Three or more years of professional barbering experience. Prior teaching or training experience preferred. Compassion, communication skills, and a passion for helping others succeed.
