JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Barista and food Service Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting in the preparation and serving of food and beverages. You will play a vital role in ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests, maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness within the kitchen and dining areas. You’ll be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee and tea beverages. Key responsibilities include:
1. Beverage Preparation:
- Brew coffee and tea to high standards.
- Prepare espresso-based drinks (e.g., lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos etc)
- Customize drinks based on customer preferences.
2. Customer Service:
- Greet customers and take orders.
- Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items.
- Ensure a positive and welcoming experience.
3. Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment.
- Clean and sanitize work areas and tools.
4. Inventory Management:
- Monitor and restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Ensure proper storage of perishable items.
5. Cash Handling:
- Process payments and operate the cash register.
- Handle transactions accurately and provide change.
6. Team Collaboration:
- Work with colleagues to maintain efficiency and a clean environment.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.
A successful barista is passionate about coffee, has excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience is often preferred but not always required, as training is typically provided.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices is advantageous.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.
  • Ability to provide outstanding guest services with a friendly attitude.
  • Basic culinary skills, including knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
  • Familiarity with upselling techniques to promote menu items effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
