OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe. The ideal candidate will possess strong time management skills and a passion for food service, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 year experience as Barista in Canada - Experience for working with programming coffee machines will not considered.
  • Must have experience for working with Professional Espresso coffee machine
  • Having a knowledge of Latte Art is an asset & preferred
  • Having a knowledge of how to bake pastries is an asset & preferred
  • Being Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident is preferred.
  • Having a valid work Permit for next 12 months is a must.
  • Fluent in English is a must.
  • Food Safe Certificate Level 1 is required before starting the job
  • Weekend availability (Saturdays & Sundays) 9 a.m. till 7 p.m. is Preferred.
  • Minimum 5 days availability during business hours is a must.

A Barista provides customers with excellent customer service and efficiently prepares high-quality coffees and other products. The primary responsibility is to follow all processes and procedures that the company has in place while keeping in mind that the customer should always leave the Cafe with an excellent experience. The Barista will act as a cashier, drink maker, preparing food and keeping the cafe clean, while providing great customer service.

  • Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks that meet quality standards
  • Continually learn about our products and provide good quality foods at all times.
  • Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner
  • Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash-handling procedures
  • Serve customers quickly and efficiently
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings
  • Observe relevant health and safety standards
  • Ensure the kitchen & all areas are clean and sanitized at all times
  • Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace
  • Follow good safety and sanitation practice
  • Follow the dress code and store policies
  • Create a safe, welcoming environment for anyone that steps into the cafe
  • Be punctual and take ownership over assigned task
