Barista – Pastry Café
Location: Barrie, Ontario
Job Type: Part-time
Reports To: Café Owner and FOH Manager
Overview
Butter Bay Pastry House is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to help to lead the front-of-house team at our cozy pastry café. Where hand-crafted pastries are made fresh daily, and every cup of coffee is brewed with care. This role is ideal for someone who loves quality coffee, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering warm, memorable service.
As Barista, you’ll oversee beverage preparation, work among a small barista team, and ensure our guests feel welcome and well-cared-for from the first sip to the last bite.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a smooth and friendly service experience.
• Maintain high standards for drink preparation, presentation, and consistency—especially during busy hours.
• Maintain proper espresso techniques, café etiquette, and knowledge of our daily selection of hand-crafted pastries.
• Manage POS operations, cash handling, and end-of-day reporting.
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen and baking team to ensure pastries are beautifully displayed and restocked as needed.
• Uphold cleanliness and café ambiance, including front counter, seating areas, and restrooms.

Qualifications & Skills

• 1 Year Minimum experience as a barista or supporting café role, coffee shop, or bakery.
• Deep knowledge of coffee, espresso-based drinks, and brewing techniques.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for creating a welcoming guest experience.
• Familiar with POS systems and day-to-day operational responsibilities.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
