Description Responsibilities: The Clawson Cafe is a cozy, community-focused coffee shop known for quality drinks, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’re looking for a part-time barista to join our team and help us continue creating great experiences for our customers. As a barista some of your duties will include preparing and serving coffee and espresso drinks to a high standard, providing outstanding customer service with a friendly and professional attitude, building rapport, listening, and providing friendly, fast service as you go through a tailored order-creating approach. Ensure that the Café is welcoming to all customers by having a stocked bake case and neatly displayed merchandise. Execute all operational standards correctly, in a timely manner, and in accordance with the café standards, safety, and health codes. You will operate a POS system/cash register, coffee, and espresso brewing equipment, and interact with a high volume of customers while assisting them with their orders in a fast-paced environment. Your job will be to provide the customer with exceptionally fast and friendly service. You will assist with cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas, tools, and equipment. In some areas, you may be required to obtain a food handler's certification. The approximate pay range for this position is $16.90-$18.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as the geographic location of the position. Requirements Qualifications: Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license alongside an insurable driving record. Baristas must possess the ability to lift up to 100 lbs with a hand truck. Candidates in the Café which requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting, climbing, operating espresso machines), and sales floor when needed. Ability to work alone. Availability to work weekends. Professional appearance and work ethic. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Creating Good Customer relationships and having a good customer base. Treat customers as the first priority at all times. Candidates must take initiative and consistently grow and expand their café knowledge as well as enjoy making recommendations and engaging with others.
