The Road to Recovery Trust is a registered charity in Newcastle which supports people to thrive in recovery. Our HQ is called George Street Social, based five minutes walk away from Newcastle Central Station.

SUMMARY

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic person to join our small team as a barista/Coffee shop all-rounder in a community coffee shop based within a recovery centre. This is a hands on role that includes barista style drink prep, food handling, use of epos and cash handling, cleaning, and most importantly supporting a calm and welcoming space for our community.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic math skills for handling transactions
• Good time management abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Passion for supporting individuals in recovery is highly desirable

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café
• Provide excellent customer service to all patrons
• Assist with food preparation
• Manage inventory and supplies effectively
• Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming environment
• Engage with our community to foster inclusive connections
