Join our team as a Barista for the Coral Casino Beach & Cabana Club! The Club, located at Butterfly Beach in Santa Barbara, is one of the most elite social clubs in the world. The Barista creates an inviting and memorable experience for Members and Guests by preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with efficiency and warmth. The Barista is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of service and consistency, ensuring that every drink and interaction reflects the genuine hospitality of the Club. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Exhibits sincere hospitality. Puts member satisfaction above all else and remains solutions-oriented when challenges arise. Maintains attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism with guests, managers, and fellow employees at all times. Acts as a positive team member—strives to elevate the operation and inspires those around them to do the same. Greets and interacts with Members, guests, vendors, and colleagues in a courteous, attentive, and service-oriented manner. Enthusiastically engages with Members to learn their preferences and creates personalized beverage experiences when possible. Prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and other specialty beverages to Club standards. Ensures consistency and quality in drink preparation, presentation, and timeliness. Maintains a clean and orderly workstation, including espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and brewing equipment. Stocks and replenishes all necessary items, including coffee beans, syrups, milk, cups, and condiments, maintaining appropriate pars throughout service. Assists with light food preparation, pastry display, and service as needed. Provides accurate information about beverage offerings and makes recommendations to enhance the Member experience. Monitors and ensures proper functioning of coffee equipment, promptly reporting any maintenance needs to management. Upholds cleanliness standards in the café and lounge areas, including counters, seating areas, and condiment stations. Complies with all food and beverage health, sanitation, and safety regulations. Supports continuous improvement by seeking ways to elevate service, efficiency, and product quality. Adheres to Club policies, department procedures, and employee handbook guidelines. Assists with special events, catering needs, or other assignments as required. Performs any other duties as assigned. Minimum of 1 year in the service industry. High School Diploma or equivalent education preferred. Basic knowledge of food and beverage operations. Possess Food Handlers/Serve Safe certificate and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training certificate as required by law. Frequently stands/walks for prolonged periods of time, for at least eight hours. Ability to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and reach, push, pull, carry, and lift at least 40 pounds; ability to move furniture. Ability to withstand continuous repetitive motions. May be exposed to loud noise. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS High level of professionalism and attention to detail. Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills with solid follow through. Problem solving, reasoning, and “thinking out of the box”; ability to apply common sense understanding to better serve our internal and external guests’ needs. Ability to handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results. Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by the rules of the Employee Handbook. Possesses basic math skills. Honest, dependable, and aligned with the Club’s service standards. Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
