Job Description
You will act as a personal representative of the hotel, providing service that reflects the high standards of Fairmont Dubai. It is our goal to exceed all Guests expectations when they come to dine with us. Team service will be key to our success in providing a warm and personal experience. The Barista role will be to produce consistently high quality beverages according to standards and to offer support to all other Colleagues in your team, a team of professionals with a passion for food and beverage. Reporting to the Cluster Director of Food & Beverages, responsibilities and essential job functions:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
  • Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way.
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions.
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
  • Report to duty punctually, in full uniform according to appearance and grooming standards.
  • Promote and maintain a positive working relationship at all times with all the Colleagues of Pronto and the Fairmont Dubai.
  • Fully understand and follow the hotel’s recycling program and procedures.
  • Actively participate in all health and safety procedures for Pronto and the entire hotel.
  • Follow all of safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
  • Always take corrective action if service errors occur, ensuring all solutions exceed the Guests expectation.
  • Understand each service station and all side duties assigned to that station.
  • Carrying out any miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as requested by your Manager pertaining to total quality service delivered in Pronto.
  • Flexibility in availability for changing shifts according to the demand of the business.
  • Complying with all Fairmont rules and regulations at all times.
  • Ensuring excellent first impression of the guest by practicing excellent personal hygiene and impeccable cleanliness of the outlet.
  • Provide unique dining experiences to all of our guests through warm, personal & detailed service in an upscale, fast paced environment.
  • Assist in the development of new and innovative beverage concepts for al a carte menu and monthly promotions.
  • Work with leaders and department trainers to train and evaluate team on beverage standards.
  • Work with the team to achieve greater results and positive relations.
  • Provide service consistent with all Fairmont Standards.
  • Perform duties as requested by supervisors/managers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous Barista experience required.
  • Previous point of sale system experience an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible & reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
