QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • 1-2 years of previous related experience, confidence with espresso machine and a variety of beverages
  • Experience working in a bar is considered an asset
  • Food Handler and Smart Serve Certificate is required
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a bar team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities in cafe setting
  • Positive and proactive attitude towards barista tasks and challenges

Fitzrovia is delighted to invite a passionate Barista to join our dynamic team at our specialty coffee shop/bar No. 10 Dean, known for serving some of the finest coffees in the city. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in defining the coffee experience. Our coffee shop takes pride in the exceptional quality of our products, from expertly curated specialty coffees to a selection of other delectable offerings, all aimed at meeting our customers’ sophisticated preferences.
Working under the supervision of the Lead Barista and reporting directly to the Cafe Manager, your responsibilities will include crafting exquisite coffee drinks, maintaining to our distinguished coffee recipes, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the coffee preparation area, and working collaboratively with the team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently deliver outstanding hospitality, proactively seeking opportunities to surpass guest expectations
  • Expertly prepare and serve a diverse range of hot and cold drinks, including alcoholic beverages, with attention to detail in presentation and garnishes.
  • Provide comprehensive knowledge of coffee, tea, and other café beverages, staying abreast of trends and advancements in the coffee industry.
  • Diligently ensure café menu items are prepared as required, with a focus on maintaining the consistent quality of coffee brews throughout the shift, and guaranteeing the optimal temperature of all products.
  • Possess and continually update comprehensive knowledge of the entire menu, providing expert recommendations to guests.
  • Promptly and courteously assist guests with their food and beverage orders, contributing to a pleasant and efficient dining experience.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and visual appeal of the café space, ensuring it remains inviting and well-organized throughout the shift.
  • Accurately handle cash and payment transactions, upholding a high standard of integrity and responsibility in financial dealings.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work atmosphere, actively contributing to team dynamics and assisting colleagues in meeting shared objectives.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain all café equipment, ensuring it operates efficiently and safely.
  • Adhere strictly to hygiene and handwashing protocols throughout the shift, ensuring a clean and safe environment for both staff and guests.
  • In collaboration with Café Manager and Lead Barista, address and resolve customer feedback and issues with a solutions-focused approach.
