Job Description We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our team at Fountain Gate in Narre Warren, Australia. In this role, you will be the face of our café, crafting high-quality beverages and creating memorable experiences for our customers. You'll work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where attention to detail and genuine hospitality are essential. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in coffee preparation with exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, specialty coffees, and other drinks with precision and consistency Operate and maintain espresso machines and other café equipment to ensure optimal performance Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing personalized recommendations based on customer preferences Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards Process transactions using the point-of-sale system and handle cash with accuracy Build positive relationships with customers through friendly and empathetic interactions Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations during peak and off-peak hours Customize beverages to meet individual customer requirements and dietary needs Restock supplies and manage inventory as needed Contribute to a welcoming café atmosphere that encourages repeat business Qualifications Proven experience operating espresso machines and preparing specialty coffee beverages Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling Strong customer service skills with the ability to remain friendly and patient in high-volume environments Excellent time management and organizational abilities Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices Solid interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting Attention to detail and commitment to quality in beverage preparation Preferred: Barista certification or formal coffee training Preferred: Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment Preferred: Knowledge of coffee origins, roasting profiles, and flavor characteristics
