Description Barista $10 - $13/hour DOE Part-Time Position ORGANIZATION: Friends of Switchpoint is a non-profit organization that has been serving individuals, families, and veterans in Utah who are experiencing poverty and homelessness since 2014. OUR MISSION To empower those in need by addressing the underlying cause of poverty, providing a comprehensive plan, and supporting their journey to self-sufficiency. OUR VISION Every individual embodies their worth and value with self-esteem, hope and abilities restored, thriving in affordable housing. PURPOSE: Producing and distributing freshly roasted coffee to our customers and vendors statewide. We are not just another Coffee Roastery, we have a mission and purpose in mind. Our organization is evolving in ways to provide community support services in our Community Resource Center through micro businesses. Requirements Job Responsibilities: Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service. Educate customers about menu items and answer questions regarding beverages and food offerings. Take customer orders accurately, paying close attention to allergies, dietary restrictions, and preferences. Operate the Clover POS system to process orders and handle cash, debit, credit, and Venmo payments. Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards. Prepare and serve café food items and cookies. Maintain espresso machines, brewing equipment, and other café tools to ensure proper function and report repair or maintenance needs. Keep the barista station clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Maintain cleanliness of customer seating areas, restrooms, and common spaces, including emptying trash and wiping surfaces. Ensure all supplies and inventory are organized and stored in their proper locations. Follow all health, food safety, and workplace safety regulations. Report employee safety, food safety, or product quality concerns to the Lead Barista or Manager. Communicate customer feedback to management and suggest potential improvements or new menu items. Learn about and represent Switchpoint Coffee Co. by sharing knowledge about the café and its mission with customers. Assist the Lead Barista, Manager, and volunteers with café operations and other assigned duties as needed.
