Description Position Overview Barista role will combine crafting a variety of beverages with providing excellent customer service. Barista will be expected to greet clients promptly, while taking orders and handling payments. Additionally they will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, servicing and operating equipment, and POS systems. This role requires a friendly attitude, with a keen sense of urgency, speed and attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal Barista will posses excellent hospitality and service skills to be able to build and maintain rapport within the client office community. They will be well versed to follow all FIFO and food safety rules, while providing a high quality product at all times. Additionally they will have proficiency with espresso machines, milk frothing, pouring techniques, and various other brewing methods, with the skills to make a variety of elevated craft beverages including latte art. This role requires the physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, and to lift items repetitively throughout the shift. They will work along side the Lead Barista in the client cafe as well as supporting the onsite Snack & Drink team as needed with restocking, making bulk coffee and other responsibilities, as needed. Requirements Responsibilities Setup and breakdown of coffee bar and all other points of service Helps uphold Just Fares’ hospitality standards Restocking and organizing all coffee, condiments, and other snacks and beverages as related to the Coffee Bar. Maintain a clean and organized work/service environment Maintains inventory and pars of all equipment, supplies and coffee Assist with maintaining equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs as needed. (Supports the Operations Manager Snacks & Drinks) Engages with all staff (Client and Just Fare) and is a positive and friendly face to those getting drinks at the Cafe Menu & Drink Formulation (as needed) Taking payment from customers (if needed), including POS transactions and cash handling Qualifications & Requirements 2+ years experience in a Cafe or Coffee bar Experience in hospitality with a passion for food & people Positive attitude, strong work ethic, communication & patience Attendance & punctuality is required with schedule flexibility determined by needs Ability to be self-sufficient & make sound decisions on-the-fly Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions Understanding & knowledge of safety, sanitation & food handling procedures Basic Food Handler Certification Basic mathematical skills and cash handling Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems Smart Phone Mobile device required for daily communications Preferred: Basic computer skills (docs, spreadsheets, google docs, etc.) Preferred: Good knowledge of local products, producers and farms Schedule & Expectations Typical schedules are Monday through Friday with hours dependent on the service. You are responsible for managing your schedule, based on your shift availability, with your supervisor.
