Description

A wonderful opportunity to become part of Pannekoek cafe where you will be responsible for representing the brand and culture of this friendly and welcoming cafe (located in a horse box) in a professional manner.
Previous cafe experience is essential and the role will generally be two, flexible days, a week, but also more days when required. In addition, you could become involved in events where coffee is served from a vintage Land Rover.

The role will involve:

  • Grinding and brewing exceptional, locally brewed coffee
  • Developing and maintaining expert knowledge of coffee and explaining this to customers when required
  • Consistently providing well-crafted, beautifully presented and tasty beverages
  • Taking orders and payment
  • Speaking and engaging with new and regular customers
  • Maintaining a clean, well organised, presentable and sanitised environment
  • Following health and safety guidelines
  • Regularly performing stock checks and informing the owner of anything that requires ordering
  • Being aware of opening and closing procedures so that the cafe is ready for the next shift
  • Being punctual and maintaining regular/consistent attendance
  • The ability to work flexible hours and shifts as well as possible weekends, mornings and bank holidays
  • Contributing to a positive work environment, forging strong relationships in the community and maintaining a positive outlook
  • Following recipes and serving instructions for all drinks/cakes

Shifts are generally from 8am until 1.30pm but events are more variable.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous barista experience with a strong understanding of coffee preparation and grinding techniques
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and practices
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for scheduling and communication
  • Experience in food preparation and serving to enhance customer satisfaction

SUMMARY

As a Barista, you will be essential in delivering high-quality coffee and beverage experiences to our customers. Reporting to the Café Manager, you will utilise your barista experience and serving skills to prepare and serve drinks while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Your expertise in coffee grinding and preparation, along with strong time management and basic math skills, will enhance our service efficiency. Join our team to create a welcoming atmosphere and contribute to our commitment to exceptional customer satisfaction in a vibrant café environment.
