POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to interact with our members and/or guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining with us. The Barista is responsible for positive guest interactions while serving members and/or guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, Baristas are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks and specialty beverages such as espresso, latte and cappuccino, Smoothies along with to-go items, e.g. pastries and cookies.
  • Ability to operate brewing equipment.
  • Welcome customers using appropriate language and in a friendly, warm manner. Effectively determine their interests and needs.
  • Generates revenues by attracting new customers, defining new and expanded services and products.
  • Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • To be thoroughly acquainted with all technical equipment to fully utilize its capabilities and extend efficient services to hotel guests
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with attendance standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel/club.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing proper uniform and name tag when working.
  • Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensure that the lobby public areas are maintained, clean and tidy by liaison with Housekeeping Department.
  • Interact with other departments to ensure that guest needs are satisfied.
  • Follow proper procedure for accepting member charges and credit cards.
