PURPOSE: This position requires skills in two areas of Switchpoint under supervision and direction of the store manager; the coffee "Barista" you will produce and distribute freshly roasted coffee to our customers and communication with our vendors. We are not just another Coffee Roastery, we have a mission and purpose in mind. We are evolving in ways to provide community support services throughout our community. As a "Thrift Store "Clerk" you will perform duties and complete all necessary tasks related to processing customer sales and maintaining all aspects of the store needs. As a Barisa and/or Clerk; you will provide excellent customer service, build strong staff rapport, and promote sales as the key components of the role. The safety of our employees is a primary concern at Switchpoint. Employees are expected to follow OSHA proper lifting techniques and safe-lifting ergonomics while on the job. Requirements JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Barista Take customer orders using Clover POS system, cash, Venmo Prepare and serve drinks and Cookies Clean customer seating areas, empty trash, keep bathroom clean Maintain a clean and sanitary work area Ensure that all supplies are organized and stored in their proper place Employees have a responsibility to report employee safety, food safety and/or quality concerns to Lead Barista or Manager Perform all other related duties as assigned Learn about and share your knowledge of Switchpoint Coffee Co. with customers Assist Lead Barista and manager and volunteers with other assigned duties. Clerk Provide excellent customer service in a professional and kind manner with customers, donors, volunteers, and team members. Operate the cash register and handle cash accurately; experience as a cashier preferred. Price and merchandise items accurately, maintaining a good understanding of the value of thrift store items. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area, including backroom processing and donation management. Assist with opening and closing store procedures, restocking, displays, and reporting procedures for cash register and credit card transactions. Help process donations, deal with vendors, and support other team members as needed. Work collaboratively with coworkers and be a self-starter, reliably completing assigned tasks. Safely operate store vehicles as needed (clean driving record required; ability to drive box truck and truck/trailer). Follow all safety guidelines, including OSHA standards and safe lifting techniques. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely. Must be able to walk up and down stairs as required. Must be able to stand or be on feet for extended periods throughout the workday. Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and moving items throughout the store. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong customer service and communication skills. Detail-oriented and highly organized. Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Previous retail, thrift, or cash handling experience is a plus.
