  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, human services, or related field, and two (2) or more years of experience working with homeless or disadvantaged youth in a training environment; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient and experienced in Barista and Café operations.
  • Valid King County Food Handler’s Permit.
  • Proficient and experienced in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Ability to work with customized databases and technology and to conduct internet research.
  • Ability to listen patiently and attentively, ability to express self clearly and effectively, and the ability to adapt communication based on audience and purpose with inclusivity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, within diverse teams and environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and requests and meet deadlines in a professional manner. Ability to be flexible and adaptable and change plans as needed.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Effectively deliver designed curriculum in the classroom, online, and at the café to prepare students to meet training competencies.
  • Interact with students in a student-trainer environment with ongoing coaching, training, and feedback to the students.
  • Provide on-the-job barista training and support, work with café instructors to best utilize production opportunities to meet student skill development.
  • Actively participate in meetings with partner agency and operations staff to ensure student success.
  • Work closely with Case Managers and partner agencies to address student needs, maintain positive relationships, collaborate to problem solve, and work as a team to resolve program issues.
  • Work with community partners to arrange field trips for students.
  • Review and make recommendations to improve barista curriculum using an aligned approach.
  • Provide students with performance feedback and coaching.
  • Track and document student progress and other information as required.
  • Support training at partner organizations and outreach at community events as assigned.
  • Responsible for classroom setup, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
