At The Waffle Market, we’ve expanded and introduced an exciting new venture at Hengistbury Head (as seen in the Bournemouth Echo) and we’re looking for a friendly, confident and experienced barista to run our converted horsebox café located at the front garden of the Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre.
You’ll be responsible for serving freshly brewed barista coffee, waffles, and ice cream (weather dependant), engaging warmly with customers, and ensuring the smooth daily running of the site. This is a solo operator role, ideal for someone reliable and proactive who loves working outdoors with independence.
Role Details:
Location: Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre, Southbourne, Bournemouth
Hours: 5 days a week Wednesday - Sunday 09:00 - 17:30
Duration: September - November (with possibility to extend dependant on trade)
Pay: £15/hour

Responsibilities:

• Open and close the horsebox café independently
• Make and serve high-quality coffees using professional La Spaziale barista equipment
• Cook sweet waffles to order and serve ice cream
• Deliver excellent, friendly customer service to visitors and tourists
• Maintain cleanliness and food hygiene standards
• Liaise professionally with the on-site Visitor Centre team (part of Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council)
• Monitor stock levels and report supply needs for weekly restocking

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience as a barista (essential) with Latte Art is possible!
• Experience in a customer-facing food role (waffles/ice cream/hospitality a bonus)
• Self-motivated and confident working solo
• Trustworthy, organised, and friendly
• Holds or willing to get a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
• Enjoys working outdoors and engaging with the public
