Expected hours: 40 per week
Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift, variable in accordance with the rota
The bartender is responsible for creating a pleasant experience for members & their guests by preparing and serving drinks and keeping the bar clean and tidy. The bartender also communicates with members, takes orders and serves snacks or other accessories if necessary.
Experience:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Drink Preparation:
· Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes.
· Make cocktails, beer, wine and other drinks.
· Make sure the correct glassware is used for each type of drink.
Customer Service:
· Greet members as they arrive and engage in conversation to enhance their experience.
· Take drink orders from members or servers and serve them as quickly as possible.
Bar Maintenance:
· Maintain a clean and tidy bar, including washing glassware & equipment
· Keep up the Bar DD and cleaning schedules
· Stock and replenish drinks and supplies.
· Monitor bar inventory and notify management of shortages or ordering needs.
Team Collaboration:
· Work with bar backs and other staff to ensure efficient operation of the bar.
· Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up the bar and cleaning after shifts.
Attending Tables/Table Services
· Provide table service when needed, taking orders, serving drinks, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience at tables.
Supporting the Dining Room
· Assist with dining room service, working alongside the waitstaff to fulfill guest needs, such as delivering drinks, helping clear tables, or assisting with food orders.
Shift Coverage
· Be flexible and available to cover shifts as needed, ensuring continuous and smooth bar operations.
Taking Orders from Clients
· Take orders from clients either at the bar or at tables and ensure that beverage preferences are recorded accurately.
Flexibility to Work in the Restaurant
· Be flexible and assist in other areas of the restaurant as required, including supporting service in the dining room or assisting in other hospitality roles.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
· Experience: Previous bartending experience preferred at least 1 year.
· Knowledge: Familiarity with a wide range of drink recipes and beverage products.
· Customer Service: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Posses a can do attitude toward both members and other departments, promoting a teamwork mentality,
· Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
· Attention to Detail: Precision in mixing drinks and managing cash transactions.
