Summary: The City Museum is seeking energetic, fun, responsible and service-orientated applicants for seasonal employment opportunities in the food and beverage department.  The Bartender is responsible for serving our guest courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic manner. Duties of this position include preparing cocktails or serving food orders, receiving money, accurately counting back change, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Essential Job Functions  * Provide quality, and genuine, hospitality in a timely manner. * Prepares consistent beverages following recipes in a timely manner. * Understand and provide information to guests regarding all menu items available. * Follows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and assists with intoxicated guests. * Processes cash and credit card transactions.   * Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes workstation and dining areas.  * Serves food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers’ needs. * Replenishes food items, dining utensils and products to ensure products are stocked to appropriate levels. * Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guests and co-workers. * Always follows safety and sanitation policy and procedures. * Adheres to City Museum safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation. * Ensures security of company assets. * Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of the City Museum. Minimum Requirements:   * High School Diploma or Equivalent. * Previous experience as a bartender or server. * Familiarity of basic food safety and sanitation procedures.  * Able to take direction and work independently when applicable. * Must be 21 years of age. Preferred Education and Experience:   * Previous bartending experience in an entertainment venue. * Prior customer service experience.  Competencies  * Ability to complete basic math. * Knowledge of basic service standards. * Excellent time Management. * Initiative Physical Requirements: * Must be available to stand for long period hours. * Ability to lift to 50 pounds. * Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, climb, carry, and reach on a frequent basis. * Current department starting wage: $14.30/hr + tips     Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in culinary venues and is exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures. The employee is frequently exposed to raw meats, fruits, and vegetables.  The employee is also occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud while in the Museum.     Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
