The property currently consists of our hotel, which boasts 70+ hotel rooms, a locally favorite restaurant, Harry's Ocean Bar & Grille, which includes Cape May’s only rooftop bar, and of course beach service. The resort is also proud to have Cape May’s only oceanfront liquor store – The Wine Cellar at Harry’s. Summary: The role of the Bartender is to serve our guest responsibly and safely while providing friendly, prompt, and courteous service while emphasizing quality to ensure repeat business. Responsibilities: Know, understand, and adhere to company established policies and procedures. Ensures guest interactions are always positive. Smiles with every guest. Must be able to pass a pour and speed test. It is the bartender’s responsibility to confirm their schedule with MOD one week in advance. Perform proper credit card procedures for all credit card payments. All credit card transactions must be signed by guests. Consolidate, rotate, and secure all alcohol in proper areas as directed by the manager before and after every shift. Be knowledgeable, know all products, and special instructions per manager on duty. Ring In all drinks before serving. “Ring It Before You Bring It” It is NJ State Law. All trash removed brought to dumpsters & boxes broken down. Restock all glassware, bar groceries, liquor, beer or wine “LBW” as needed for beginning/ending shifts Wear proper uniform, clean & pressed. Check all glassware inventory for proper quantities, making sure all are clean & polished. See MOD for “square” set up for all credit card sales where applicable. All cash bars must offer this service. Any LBW exchanged must be recorded on the transfer sheet at Harry’s, alerting MOD on duty. Restock all necessary items needed for the event. Retrieve/Return bank from MOD, confirming amount. Review all paperwork from the manager, paying attention to special arrangements/details/counts. Monitor Consumption Sheet and turn into MOD at end of shift. Communicate with MOD on inventory needs. Assist servers or any team member through efficient service at all times. Check in and approve incoming orders from vendors where applicable. Keep bar and storage areas in sanitary condition in accordance with Board of Health Standards. See MOD for specifications. Ensure cost control by using proper “POUR” procedures. Ending shift with MOD approval. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Lift up to 40 lbs.
