Hope Valley Country Club, located in Durham, North Carolina, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for Bartenders Founded in 1926, Hope Valley is an elite private club featuring a classic Donald Ross designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facility, resort-style pool complex, and a spacious, welcoming clubhouse offering its members first-class recreation, dining, and programming. Hope Valley is ideally situated in the heart of one of Southeast’s most vibrant, exciting areas. The ideal candidate is a confident mixologist with a passion for service, elevated cocktail presentation, and a commitment to excellence. This role requires more than pouring drinks — it’s about creating an experience through elegant beverages and exceptional hospitality for our members and guests. Primary responsibilities include: Craft classic and contemporary cocktails with consistency, precision, and visual appeal Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wines, spirits, and drink pairings Set up and break down bar area, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times Maintain inventory and restock bar items as needed Build rapport with members and guests, providing personalized and attentive service Follow all club policies regarding service etiquette, dress code, and alcohol safety Assist in creating seasonal cocktail menus and specialty event offerings Support the team by helping with service bar tickets for dining room staff Uphold all ABC laws and club regulations concerning alcohol service What We Offer: A supportive, team-oriented environment Opportunity to engage with a loyal, appreciative membership Ongoing training and opportunities to showcase creativity through signature drinks Competitive hourly wage and gratuities Complimentary staff meals and uniform Qualifications Required Skills Minimum 2 years bartending experience, preferably in an upscale or private club environment Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits, and proper bar techniques Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Well-groomed, professional appearance and demeanor Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays TIPS or responsible alcohol service certification is preferred Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIORNMENT REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
