JOB SUMMARY - BARTENDER

The Bartender role is a part-time position that involves performing duties related to bar and customer service. As a bartender, you will be the main point of contact between the club, its members and their guests. It’s important to offer helpful, friendly service while following our policies and procedures. Since this role involves working with customers and helping create a great experience, it takes a thoughtful, respectful, and professional approach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• An Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency.
• Smart Serve Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Excellent customer service skill set
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize
• Excellent communication skills
• Display a high level of ownership and accountability.
• Follows all health and safety standards, policies and procedures.
• Reliable and available to work all scheduled shifts (shifts may include days, afternoons, weekends and holidays).

The responsibilities of the bartenders will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in compliance with Smart Serve and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission.
• Understand the technical elements of the role to effectively carry out daily responsibilities as a bartender and server. This includes familiarity with the point-of-sale system, preparing items from the drink menu, restocking products, changing kegs, completing daily checklists, following opening and closing procedures.
• Greeting guests promptly and courteously
• Taking snack and drink orders accurately and efficiently
• Follow the Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all patrons.
• Responsible for handling and balancing cash.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, garnishes, glassware, napkins or straws.
• Communication with members, stakeholders and other guests.
• Manage the full operation of the Touch Bistro point of sale system.
• Help others in all phases of the job.
• Ensure all guests have everything they need.
• Complete inventories and various other tasks as requested.
• Recommend necessary maintenance requirements to supervisor.
