Description Job Summary The Bartender is responsible for preparing drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems, providing the highest quality service to guest and servers, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hours of operation, while also maintaining control over the liquor inventory. Essential Job Functions Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service- oriented manner. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards). Always comply with Mid-Continent Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Comply with certification requirements as applicable to position to include Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, Safety, etc. Perform opening and closing side work according to Mid-Continent Hospitality standards to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently. Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the company’s mixing, portion control, and presentation. Serve guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Ensure that the lounge is kept clean. Follow check ringing procedures precisely. Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S system. Carry out cashiering functions in closing checks and servicing the guest. Follow all state liquor laws. Assist with maintaining beverage cost. Follow prescribed procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to stand during entire shift. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately. Must work well in stressful/high pressure situations. Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. Must be effective in listening to, understanding, and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests. Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations)
