JOB OVERVIEW:

As a Bartender, you’ll be responsible for assisting the F&B Operational Manager / Supervisor with the overall dining program and execution of all aspects of the culinary experience for the community. This includes daily operation of the restaurant and bar, training new employees, to catering and special events.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • At least 1 year kitchen experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required
  • Knowledgeable of proper food handling procedures
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 30 – 50 lbs.
  • Work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods of time.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word.
Responsibilities

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of house cocktails, specialty drinks, and bar operations
  • Help servers with alcohol related menu questions
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef’s specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices; identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
  • Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; returning credit card and signature slip to patrons
