Join us at Flying Horse Resort and Club, your success starts now. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have extensive knowledge in cocktails, wines and spirits, food knowledge and safety. Being fast and accurate is vital to keeping up with our fast-paced environment. Welcoming Guests, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol Selecting & mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to Guests Properly describe, open and pour wine while guest-facing Assist Guests in selecting food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the menu & chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines & answering food & drink preparation questions Transmit orders to the kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, menu deviations & knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc. Assisting with inventory when needed and alerting management of supplies needed to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment Perform basic side-work as needed or directed by management Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of two years of restaurant experience in upscale dining is preferred. Must be detail oriented, accurate and possess good organizational abilities and be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. ADDITIONAL NOTES: Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills. Competency in dealing with members and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy. Must possess the ability to work effectively under time deadlines.
