Job Description: Lounge Server / Bartender
Job Title: Lounge Server / Bartender
Wage Rate: Minimum wage + tips
Anticipated Length of Employment: Varied, Part time as required.
Lounge Server / Bartender will welcome customers into the lounge and patio area, and seat them according to their needs. Lounge server / bartenders are responsible for the overall operation of the lounge bar as well as any banquet bar functions occurring on shift.
They interact with the guests directly and quickly in a manner which promotes Whitewater’s superior customer service. They are also responsible for receiving and delivering food & beverage orders. Lounge servers are also responsible for preparing and ensuring that all food & beverage items are billed correctly and payment is received.
Lounge servers / bartenders work directly under the direction of the Food & Beverage Manager and play an integral part in the daily operations of the golf club. The Food & Beverage Supervisors and Food & Beverage Manager provide daily supervision for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Valid Smart Serve certificate and practice responsible service.
  • Full knowledge and adhere to Whitewater’s standards of service.
  • Menu, wine and beverage knowledge and service standards.
  • Knowledge of current inventory controls and standards.
  • Follow and adhere to Whitewater’s Rules and Regulations as defined in the employee handbook.
  • Strong organizational skills with progressive thinking.
  • Troubleshooting skills; time management skills
  • Self motivated and able to see the big picture of the daily operation of the club.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with difficult situations with poise and diplomacy.
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of the club’s POS computer system.
  • Display superior customer service skills.
  • Adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the golf club.
  • Become familiar with and adhere to the clubs Health & Safety requirements.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Display knowledge of the Lounge menu, wine & liquor.
  • Display knowledge of specific food & beverage items including ingredients, pricing and substitutes.
  • Greeting guests and escorting to tables, providing menus and taking drink orders.
  • Taking orders and imputing into POS system.
  • Preparing, expediting and processing payment for food & beverage orders.
  • Listen and respond to customer needs.
  • Ensure lounge and patio are clean and free of clutter at all times.
  • Become familiar with members, their preferences and anticipate their needs.
  • Operate on-course beverage cart as needed
  • Set up and take down of the bar including opening / locking up all liquor, beer & wine.
  • Stocking the bar. (IE ice, glassware, garnishes, etc)
  • Opening / closing bar inventories
  • General cleaning duties, including vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors emptying garbage.
  • Set a strong example for other employees by being a team player.
  • Report any and all complaints to management attention.
  • All other duties as instructed by management.
