DESCRIPTION

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving drinks as well as food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. This role involves a deep understanding of cocktails, wines, beers, and other beverages as well as the ability to anticipate guest needs. The Bartender also contributes to a welcoming atmosphere by maintaining a clean and organized bar, engaging guests, and supporting the overall service experience.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have ProServe certification.
• Prior bartending experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment (2-3 years preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of wines, spirits, beer and cocktails.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and optimal memorization skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
• Knowledge of a POS system and basic cash handling.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Maintain professionalism, cleanliness, and personal hygiene at all times.
• Fluent in English (additional languages are an asset).
• A genuine passion for providing excellent customer service.

• Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Have in-depth knowledge of beverage offerings, including wine, spirits and beer.
• Ensure all products are prepared and served according to Sorrentino’s specifications.
• Ensure accurate measurement of alcohol and adherence to all liquor regulations to avoid overpouring.
• Monitor bar supplies and ingredients to ensure efficient service during busy times.
• Regularly clean and restock bar supplies, ensuring that all tools and ingredients are ready for use.
• Practice responsible selling and serving alcohol to guests at all times.
• Assist in pre-shift preparation and post-shift cleanup to ensure the restaurant is always ready for guests.
• Engage in suggestive selling and upselling techniques to increase guest satisfaction and sales.
• Handle payments accurately, processing cash and credit card transactions.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including liquor laws, health codes, and operational standards.
