Description
Skilled behind the bar, genuine across it. The bar is its own experience at Tupelo — approachable, warm, and a cut above what most guests expect in a mountain town. In addition to running the bar, bartenders may be asked to take tables situationally when the floor needs support. This is not a daily expectation, but it is part of the role — and the right candidate will see it as a natural extension of the hospitality they already provide. You will craft cocktails, manage bar inventory and mise en place, carry bar tickets from the floor, and help maintain the culture and tone of the space.   Reports to: Bar Manager / General Manager CORE RESPONSIBILITIES * Execute cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to Tupelo's standards — consistently and efficiently * Maintain thorough knowledge of the cocktail menu, wine list, and beer selection, including ingredients and flavor profiles * Provide genuine hospitality to bar guests — engage, recommend, and be present * Cover tables on the floor situationally when directed by the manager — executing full table service including food and beverage * Manage bar ticket volume from the floor without sacrificing bar guest experience * Monitor and maintain bar inventory and mise en place throughout service * Follow responsible alcohol service practices and Montana liquor laws — cut off guests when necessary * Complete bar opening and closing procedures thoroughly * Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar at all times * Track and communicate low inventory to the Bar Manager or GM * Support overall service team with communication on timing and availability QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a full-service environment required * Strong foundation in classic cocktails and working knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer * Prior serving experience or comfort taking tables preferred * Must hold or be able to obtain Montana alcohol service certification * Must be 18 or older * Experience with POS systems — Toast experience a plus * Reliable availability including weekdays, some weekends, and holidays YOU'RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU * You are as comfortable making a classic Negroni as you are recommending a wine pairing * You manage your well like a professional — mise en place matters to you * You can step onto the floor and deliver the same level of service you would from behind the bar * You hold yourself to a standard even when no one is watching
