OVERVIEW The Bartender is responsible for the efficient operation of the bar system and for providing exceptional customer service to guests at Parq Casino. A strong background in bartending and customer service is a requirement for this position. WHY WORK AT PARQ * Extended Health and Dental Benefits * RSP/RRSP Matching * Employee and Family Assistance Program * Tuition Reimbursement * 20% off at Parq Food & Beverage Outlets * Discounted rates at local businesses within the community * Volunteer opportunities * Employee Recognition Program * Opportunities for growth and development * Companywide events * Refer a Friend Program DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Greet and communicate with all guests in a friendly and courteous manner * Provide prompt expedient and courteous service to all guests at all times * Receive and understand beverage orders ad repeat them back to guests and/or Cocktail Servers for accuracy * Properly mix the drinks, set for presentation and serve the desired alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as requested by guests and/or Cocktail Servers * Prepares drinks and disperses liquor in accordance with established procedures to minimize waste and control costs * Circulate through the assigned bar area on a continuous basis to provide superior customer service * Operate the established POS systems by following correct ordering procedures, identifying the correct drinks provided and that the approved comping procedures are followed, when applicable * Maintain accurate and proper comp and cash handling procedures in accordance with the department policies * Maintain a clean and safe work environment, free of dirty glassware, beer bottles, and dispose of other trash as needed * Stock bars as required and maintain prep for busy periods * Continuously watch for signs of intoxication for the protection and enjoyment of all guests * Make yourself aware of Events within Parq and Stadiums in the area to be prepared for guests QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE * Previous bartending experience and/or bartending certificate is required * Maintain an updated knowledge of the brands of beer, wine and liquors being offered for consumption * Knowledge of ingredients for cocktails and specialty drinks, garnishes required, and proper glassware used * Must be able to work weekend, holidays, and nights as needed * Able to work in a fast pace in often crowed/noisy environment CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES REQUIREMENTS * Ability to obtain a valid GPEB registration * Ability to complete all BCLC required trainings * Serving it Right Certification * Food Safe Certificate PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Able to lift, handle, and transport materials that are over 20lbs * Required to sit, stand and walk during working hours At Parq Casino, we believe in fostering a culture of connection, care, responsibility and sustainability.
