Job Description: Job Description This position supports the protection of UPS facilities and equipment. With the individual’s technical knowledge and analytical skills, he/she assists with providing safe and reliable material, handling equipment and facilities and ensuring environmental compliance. The Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Specialist will be performing the following tasks: Assist the Supervisor with project management tasks related to the installation of conveyor equipment and facility construction, supervise contractors, holding them accountable to fulfill the scope of the contract Maintenance of conveyor equipment and buildings Assist the Supervisor with Facility Safety and Environmental Programs compliance Assist the Supervisor with Facility Housekeeping Tasks. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/civil engineering/construction management or similar relevant discipline Excellent communication skills. Proficient in both spoken and written English Proficient in Microsoft Office applications i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc. Working knowledge of AutoCAD 1 year experience minimum, 3 years preferred in conveyor system installations OR maintenance management. Able to work in a fast-paced, warehouse setting Results and detail oriented Sense of urgency Flexibility to accommodate changing shift time Capable of lifting up to 32kg unassisted Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and elementary diagrams is an asset Knowledge of PLC’s and electrical controls is an asset Experience with IBM Maximo, Coupa is an asset Articulating-boom lift, scissor lift, and forklift experience is an asset Employee Type: Permanent UPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
