Job Details Job Location: Garfield Community Center - Seattle, WA 98122 Position Type: Part Time Education Level: High School Salary Range: $23.00 - $25.00 Hourly Basketball Instructor (Garfield Community Center) If you have a fundamental knowledge of the sport of basketball and passion for and experience teaching kids, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as Basketball Instructor at Garfield Community Center. This is a year-round part-time role. There are multiple opportunities to extend. ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, the Basketball Instructor at Garfield Community Center will lead children between the ages of 3-12 in a variety of drills and games to teach the fundamentals of basketball. The goals of practice include building self-confidence, learning basketball basics, developing fine motor skills, and promoting heathy minds and bodies in a safe and fun environment. Schedule: Thursdays 3:00 PM -5:30 PM (1-08-2026 till 3-20-2026) Start Date: 1-08-2026 Basketball Instructor duties and responsibilities include: Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate basketball lessons and activities for each practice. Instructors are expected to plan class practice, drills, games, and curriculum. Plan, lead, and implement age appropriate activities for each, focusing on fine motor development, basic skills, and fun active learning. Generate a supply list for the program. Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance logs and incident reports. Basketball Instructor requirements include: Must be 18 years of age. Experience working with kids. Experience is basketball play and skills. Must pass a WSP criminal background check.
