Description Job Summary: The Batch Mixer is responsible for the precise melting and mixing of ingredients such as chocolate, peanut butter, oils, and powders. Batch mixers are also responsible for managing and maintaining the sanitation and hygiene of all enrobing rooms and line equipment. This role requires strict adherence to weighing and documentation protocols, as well as monitoring time and temperatures to ensure product consistency and quality. Responsibilities of the Position: Accurately weigh and measure ingredients according to specified recipes Operate mixing equipment to melt and blend ingredients, ensuring uniform consistency Maintain detailed records of ingredient weights, mixing times, temperatures, and other relevant data Monitor and adjust mixing processes to meet quality standards and metal detection Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient production processes Use the Basic Sanitation Steps to wet-wash and sanitize the processing equipment Adhere to all creative werks policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety and food safety Perform other duties as assigned by Management Requirements Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to follow strict protocols and procedures Good communication and teamwork skills Basic math and mechanical aptitude Basic problem-solving skills required Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, written and verbally Ability to prioritize and organize workload Ability to read, write and understand English work instructions Basic computer skills Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED with 4 years’ experience required, bachelor’s degree preferred Previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar role preferred Food Safety Responsibilities: Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness) Participate in company GMP walks Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring Working Conditions: Warehouse and office environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 F° Standing for extended periods of time. Handling of food ingredients and powered industrial equipment Working with and around heating elements, kettles and other industrial equipment where specialized PPE is mandatory This position may require the employee to work weekends or shifts other than their own to meet the needs of the business Physical Requirements: Operate standard office equipment Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds Stand and/or walk continuously for 8-12 hours a day Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation
