A Material Handler is responsible for staging, transporting, and dumping all packaged dry ingredients into the chocolate paste batching systems.

Principal Accountabilities
Follow all Food Safety (HACCP), GMP’s, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental programs
Manually lift and dump ingredients into specified hoppers (up to 55 lbs)
Measure ingredients and document amounts and lot #’s according to formulas
Maintain raw material inventory logs and reconcile daily
Empty and wash garbage bins used in Batching department
Contact Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2 and/or Maintenance personnel in the event of any problems with the equipment
Clean work areas and equipment as assigned or scheduled
Must obtain forklift license, and use pallet handling equipment to move product or ingredient materials as required
Maintain all production areas in a neat and clean condition
Properly account for any ingredient spills or scrap
Perform other duties as assigned by the Batching Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2 Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
Must have keyboarding skills for data inputting
Minimum of 1 year related food manufacturing experience and/or training
Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
Strong mathematical skills
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 55 lbs, kneeling, climbing and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
Ability to operate machinery or industrial equipment
Ability to work in various temperature environments
Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word.
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP
High school diploma or GED
Forklift or Walkie experience
Basic maintenance experience
