Description The Batcher Operator is responsible for operating the batching machine to wind, align, and prepare fabric rolls before or after the dyeing process. This position ensures proper fabric tension, alignment, yardage accuracy, and roll quality while maintaining production efficiency and quality standards. Responsibilities Operate batching/winding machine to roll fabric onto A-frames or batch rolls. Monitor fabric alignment, edge control, and tension throughout operation to SOP specifications. Adjust machine speed and tension settings to prevent wrinkles, stretching, or distortion. Measure and record yardage accurately. Inspect fabric during batching for visible defects and report issues. Label rolls properly with lot number, style, yardage, and production information. Assist in loading and unloading fabric rolls using hoists or lift equipment. Maintain cleanliness of machine and work area. Follow all plant safety procedures and wear required PPE. Communicate with dye machine operators and supervisors regarding production flow. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in textile manufacturing or finishing preferred. Basic mechanical understanding of industrial machinery. Ability to read production tickets and work orders. Ability to lift and move fabric rolls as required.
