JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Personal Support Worker - Bath Aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting residents with bathing and personal care under the guidance of our Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses. You’ll work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of care for our residents.

BACKGROUND/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an approved Personal Support Worker course or equivalent as per LTCHA, 2007 47 (1).
  • Experience in a Long Term Care setting is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physically capable of performing duties within a flexible schedule.
  • Compliance with health requirements as per Long Term Care Legislation.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Genuine interest and concern for the bathing & personal care of our residents.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with bathing, personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
  • Provide various resident services including transferring, lifting, bathing, feeding, and personal care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation through designated systems.
  • Uphold professionalism and respect for residents’ welfare and dignity.
  • Participate in resident care programs and rehabilitative approaches.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of residents’ surroundings and personal effects.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures.
  • Participate in educational opportunities and interdisciplinary care conferences.
