Description We are looking for a compassionate and team-oriented Group Facilitator to join our Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP) team. The BIPP Facilitator provides individual intake sessions, facilitates psycho-educational group sessions, orientation and exit sessions. The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence, strong written and oral communication skills, and experience working with clients in individual and group settings. Reports to: Director of Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP) Supervises: Assigned Interns and Volunteers Primary Functions: Provide educational groups using appropriate psycho-educational teaching techniques. Effectively teach nonviolence skills utilizing tools provided by an approved educational curriculum(s). Conduct orientation and intake sessions for new participants. Provide limited individual services. Maintain client files and records with confidentiality, accurate and complete records. Schedule and conduct exit sessions for participants that are completing the program. Collect and report statistical data reflecting the services provided. Maintain accurate records on collection of participant’s fees and receipts. Provide public education, in-service workshops, and professional training presentations as assigned. Provide supervision and support to student interns and volunteers serving as co-facilitators. Maintain professional relationships with probation department, parole, district attorney’s office, judges and child protective services to assure best delivery of services to client. Maintain CEUs as required by TDCJ-CJAD. Participate in DCFOF staff and education meeting as requested. Provide the highest level of customer services consistent with the agency philosophy and agency policies and procedures. Requirements Prerequisites: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work or relevant field Advanced Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics Experience working with clients in a group setting Ability to work effectively with adult men, women and adolescent males Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and Saturday hours Dependable transportation Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record Preferences: Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or relevant field Battering intervention or victim advocacy experience preferred Bilingual Preferred (English and Spanish) Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 35 lbs Ability to climb stairs easily Ability to stand (either inside or outside) for extended periods of time
