Key Responsibilities:

  • Design equipment tailored to meet specific throughput capacities and product requirements.
  • Work with equipment suppliers to select control components and design electrical cabinets, machine-mounted hardware, power distribution systems, and cable management solutions.
  • Develop standards for hardware, software, safety, and maintenance of industrial control systems used in manufacturing processes such as conveyance, material handling, dispensing, fastening, joining, and inspection.
  • Plan and implement multi-phase development strategies to support different stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Partner with manufacturing engineering to ensure equipment designs align with production capabilities and efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination to integrate third-party manufacturing processes into a unified production strategy.
  • Continuously analyze and enhance manufacturing processes to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality—both internally and with external manufacturing partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant combination of experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of automation experience, with a strong focus on controls design and calibration.
  • In-depth expertise with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs, HMIs, I/O modules, and drive systems—both hardware and software.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial robotics programming and application testing, preferably with Fanuc systems.
  • Skilled in PLC programming using Ladder Logic, Function Block, and Structured Text languages.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, including Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and IO-Link.
  • Proficient in high-level programming languages such as Python, C#, and SQL.
  • Practical experience in developing and commissioning discrete automation systems from concept to execution.
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools, especially AutoCAD and CATIA.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage schedules, track action items, and document meetings with agendas and minutes.

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
